In the 2022 IPL, the team had a moderate season and was not qualified for the knockout stages. They had some good big names in the SRH player list but still had many voids in their squads like a WK-Batsman, opening partner Abhishek Sharma, and spinning options.

The Hyderabad-based franchise made its IPL appearance in the 2013 IPL season, finished in fourth place, and reached the playoffs. They made their maiden title in the IPL 2016 season by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in the final match.
