WPL Team Squad 2023 – Women’s Premier League

Three rounds of the accelerated auction and ten rounds of the auction took place for the inaugural Women’s Premier League, which took place on Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

Each team can only have 15 to 18 players within their respective purses. A single team can have six overseas players and can play a maximum of five overseas players in the playing11 squad of the match day.

Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, UP Warriors, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Gujarat Giants were the teams who took part in the WPL team squad 2023 auction. Eighty-seven players were sold out in the total of 448 players who were auctioned, where 59.5 crores were shelled out.

Indian teams found 47 Indian players, while 30 players were from overseas. In the auction, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was the first player to be auctioned in the championship’s history, where he sold out to the Mumbai Indians for a price of INR 1.80 crores.

Among foreigners, England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt was bought for 3.20 crores in the auction, where Australians also hogged the limelight. Smriti Mandhana is the most expensive player, bought for INR 3.40 crores by the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women’s team.

Mumbai Indians: Harmanpreet Kaur
